Strength and Conditioning is the physical and physiological development of athletes for elite sport performance.
The role of a strength and conditioning coach is to use exercise prescription specifically to improve performance in athletic competition. We also help athletes with injury prevention and proper mechanics within their sports performances.
Strength and Conditioning is about more than lifting weights – it encompasses the entire development of the athlete and what is needed to improve physical performance. This includes plyometrics, speed and agility, endurance and core stability with strength training being just one piece of the jigsaw.
I have worked extensively with young athletes across a host of sports, latterly the sprinters and young athletes at Rugby & Northampton Athletic Club (RNAC 2017-2018) and I also work with adult athletes who have very specific sport performance requirements.
